According to News, this oldest pub in Australia has been serving tourists for more than 170 years, but its history is still full of unanswered mysteries.
The pub is located at 81, Lower Fort Street, The Rocks, New South West.
However, the most terrifying crime that took place here was the case of homeowner Anne Kirkman, whose husband murdered her and threw her into the cellar in 1849, after she discovered he had an illicit relationship with a young girl.
The current homeowner, Ms. Kazuko Nelson, has owned The Hero of Waterloo for over 25 years.
Previously, the owners of the pub were people who had served time in prison. This pub and hotel was also a place that harbored illegal alcohol trafficking activities.
Mrs. Kazuko said that when she first worked in this bar with her late husband, he said, `If someone runs out of the women’s restroom screaming, try to calm them down.`
Upstairs above the bar, and at midnight, Mrs. Kazuko also said she often heard the sound of a piano.
`One day, a monk happened to visit this place. When he walked up to the bar and stood right above the wine cellar, he suddenly said: ‘She died right here. I bet he didn’t know anything.
The basement of the pub is a place where very few people dare to visit due to fear of ghost rumors.
In the Duke’s Room, people often hear the footsteps of ghosts going in and out continuously.
This fact is so obvious that employees often refuse to work in this room alone.
Rayleen Kable and Michelle Janes, two of Sydney’s leading supernatural investigators, came to this house to verify the rumors.
