Covid-19 Treatment Center, Military Hospital 175 is a unit on the 3rd floor of the Covid-19 tower, with the function of treating severe and critical F0 groups in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Doctor Vu Dinh An (Deputy Head of the Intensive Care Department and Deputy Director of the center), on average before October 29, the number of F0 hospitalized was 20 cases.
This amount of F0 comes from two sources.
Doctors at Military Hospital 175 perform an ECMO (extracorporeal circulatory system) case for a seriously ill Covid-19 patient.
Noted in Binh Trung Dong ward, Thu Duc city, doctor Nguyen Van Qua (head of the ward medical station) said that in the past two weeks, there has been a difference in the F0 number.
At a press conference providing information on Covid-19 prevention on November 1, Chief of Office of the Department of Health Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai commented that the number of F0 hospitalized is decreasing every day, but is still higher than the number of cases discharged.
Regarding this issue, Dr. Truong Huu Khanh (consultant to the Department of Infectious Diseases – Neurology, Children’s Hospital 1) said that the slight increase in the number of F0 and hospitalizations at this time `reflects the reality` after Ho Chi Minh City.
Recently, the number of F0 hospitalized has increased in some units, but it can be seen that most of them are mild illnesses, only requiring monitoring, and do not require mechanical ventilation or oxygen intervention.
As of November 1, Ho Chi Minh City has recorded 432,703 cases of Covid-19, announced by the Ministry of Health.
After many days of observing the actual situation, when the city returned to a new normal, Dr. An said that there were many people who were subjective and negligent when spilling out onto the streets and gathering in large crowds at entertainment venues without paying attention.
In addition, in cases of F0 becoming more severe, it is possible that the role of the primary health care system in providing care and counseling for F0 at home has not achieved the best treatment effect, and the patient is at risk of not being able to receive adequate treatment.
An 8-year-old child suffered from critical multisystem inflammatory syndrome after contracting Covid-19 and had to be hospitalized for treatment.
At some other lower-level hospitals, the number of new F0 admissions in general did not increase, such as City Children’s Hospital (one of two specialized pediatric hospitals implementing the `split hospital` model of parallel treatment for children.
Doctor Nguyen Minh Tien (Deputy Director of City Children’s Hospital) shared that at the peak of the epidemic, the Covid-19 treatment area had about 500 cases, on November 2 it decreased to 86 cases, including 7 newly hospitalized children.
For the past few weeks, every day the hospital has received 5-10 cases from lower level hospitals, or community cases sent by the district.
Similarly, Doctor Tran Van Khanh (Director of Field Hospital No. 3) informed that over the past several days, the number of new hospitalizations has not increased, maintaining 20-50 cases.
`Currently, vaccine coverage is widespread, the number of cases is gradually decreasing. Furthermore, patients with relatively mild symptoms, or no symptoms, should be quarantined at home if eligible,` Dr. Khanh explained.
