Hong Nhung - 'Child woman' of music 2
During the music rehearsal to prepare for the live show My Childhood (June 18), Hong Nhung wore brightly colored clothes and had frizzy hair.
After more than 30 years of singing, at the age of 47, Hong Nhung still maintains her small, slim body and innocent features, once called a `childish woman` by musician Trinh Cong Son.
Hong Nhung is young at the age of U50.
Few people know that, under the pressure of the profession, the singer once wanted to quit singing to follow a flatter path.
A childhood lacking in love is filled with music
Hong Nhung is not from a singing family.
At the age of 10, she passed the entrance exam to join the Hoa Mi team of the Hanoi Children’s Cultural Palace.

At the age of 11, Bong recorded a solo song `My Hello` by musician Nghiem Ba Hong for the Voice of Vietnam at the studio on Quan Su Street.

Hong Nhung said that the Hoa Mi team at that time was sponsored by the Soviet Union and Germany.
Working with Hoa Mi team laid the first bricks, forming the foundation for the singer’s career.
`Child Woman` sings Trinh’s music with all her heart
From 1987 to 1980, Hong Nhung was a `light music phenomenon` in Hanoi and a promising vocalist of the Central Light Music Ensemble.
In 1990, when she turned 20 years old, Hong Nhung `went south`.
The biggest turning point in `Miss Bong’s` life while in Ho Chi Minh City was meeting musician Trinh Cong Son.

When she was very young, Hong Nhung listened to the disc Son ca 7 from her neighbor’s house and loved the works of musician Trinh Cong Son.
Later, coming into contact with Trinh Cong Son, Hong Nhung understood many stories behind each song and his intentions.

The late musician did not teach her specific lessons, however, she was greatly influenced by his way of life, sense of beauty and humility.
Hong Nhung was a human when she was young
Musician Trinh Cong Son is also the person who brought Hong Nhung’s nickname `Bong` closer to the audience.
At that time, Hong Nhung was quite mature for her age and still had the chatty and innocent features of a Hanoi girl.
Now, at the age of U50, Hong Nhung admits that she is even more playful than 10-20 years ago, freely `making trouble` on stage, letting go of all reservations to show her innocence in her own way.
