Vietnam’s Quang Binh, Ninh Binh and Ha Long are becoming the three hottest destinations in 2017 after the Hollywood blockbuster – Kong: Skull Island – was filmed here last February.
The filming location must have a 5-star hotel or resort
Ms. Leann Emmert, a professional set manager in Hollywood, and the advance team from Legendary Pictures have been in Vietnam since February 2015 to survey the set for Kong: Skull Island.
Vietnam has countless beautiful landscapes in three regions.
The director of ‘Kong: Skull Island’ tells about the process of filming the blockbuster in Vietnam
After many months of surveying, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh and Ha Long were chosen as the three locations to film Kong: Skull Island because they met the first criteria such as convenient travel to Hanoi and near the major airport Noi Bai.
Build context
After choosing the locations to film, the set manager and the studio must work with the government to get permission to film.
When filming in Vietnam, the Kong: Skull Island crew built a new road, reclaimed some areas and built an entire village in the area near Van Long lagoon (Ninh Binh) – the most important scene and will appear.
In the script, there are scenes where the actors have to fall into the water.
During the entire filming period, local people were also paid daily to keep the livestock indoors.
The film crew filmed in Ninh Binh.
Immediately after filming in each location, the film crew cleaned up the scene and left no trash behind.
Vietnam – Hollywood’s new destination
Previously, filmmakers encountered many difficulties when filming in Vietnam.
Ms. Leann Emmert also said that equipment rental prices in Vietnam are much cheaper than other countries.
After Kong: Skull Island, more international film crews came to Vietnam to survey the setting and film.
The movie poster will be released on March 10.
This March, images of Vietnam’s nature will appear in cinemas around the world as well as on promotional media when the blockbuster Kong: Skull Island is released.
