Associate Professor Trinh Dinh Tung, General Secretary of the History Education Association, raised the issue that the 2017 national high school exam in History brings hope to society and teachers when more than 40% of candidates scored above average.

Calling for the abolition of multiple-choice tests in History
According to Associate Professor Dinh Ngoc Bao, multiple-choice tests in History have revealed more limitations than advantages.

This viewpoint received support from most delegates attending the discussion.
Dr. Tuong Phi Ngo proposed returning to the `three common` university admission era, where schools organized and marked their own exams, and at the same time, abolish multiple-choice tests in History and return to essay exams.
