The Ministry of Transport proposed to attach the 'contract vehicle' crest on the roof of Grab cars 3
Last weekend, the Ministry of Transport submitted to the Government the 8th draft of Decree 86 (amended) on conditions for car transport business.
Accordingly, this Ministry proposes that cars with less than 9 seats using electronic contracts (similar to Grab cars) must have a light box with the word `contract car` fixed on the roof of the car, the light box size is at least 12×30 cm.
Specifically, about 10 days ago, the Ministry of Transport proposed that electronic contract vehicles with less than 9 seats must have an electronic board (not a light box) mounted on the roof of the vehicle with dimensions of 15×20 cm.
Grab car is being piloted in 5 provinces and cities.
Also according to the draft submitted to the Government, electronic contract vehicle drivers can only pick up and drop off passengers at the correct location in the signed transport contract;
For taxis that use software, the vehicle must have a device that directly connects with passengers to book and cancel trips;
Taxi cars using the software must also have a light box with the word `TAXI` fixed on the roof, with a minimum size of 12×30 cm.
The passenger interface must have the name or logo of the business or cooperative and must provide the business unit name, driver’s full name, vehicle license plate, itinerary, trip distance (km),
At the end of the trip, businesses and cooperatives use payment calculation software to send electronic invoices of the trip to passengers, and at the same time send the invoice information to the tax authority.
According to the representative of the Drafting Committee, the contents of draft Decree 86 (amended) have been carefully studied by the Ministry of Transport as well as learned from world experience.
Recently, the Ministry of Transport received comments on electronic contract vehicles in two groups.
The second group of opinions is the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) and a number of economic experts, suggesting that vehicles with less than 9 seats apply software when transporting.
