Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Iran’s top nuclear expert, was shot to death after the car carrying him was ambushed on the outskirts of Tehran on November 27.
Fakhrizadeh is the highest-ranking Iranian nuclear expert ever assassinated, but he is not the first victim.

Tel Aviv maintains a policy of not commenting on these allegations, while Washington regularly denies any involvement.
Assassinations of Iranian scientists often have the same method, taking place on their way to work or home from work.
In 2010, particle physics expert Masoud Ali Mohammadi was killed in an explosion after he left his house.
Later that year, nuclear scientist Majid Shahriar was killed when strangers approached him and attached a bomb to his car.
In 2011, Darioush Rezaeinejad, an academic involved in Iran’s nuclear activities, was shot dead by a group of assassins on motorbikes.

The reason Fakhrizadeh’s assassination took place at this time is still unclear, as it was carried out nearly 10 years after the most recent assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist.
The White House boss has always acted tough against Tehran, culminating in the murder of General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq earlier this year.
Israel has also admitted to pursuing covert operations to gather intelligence about Iran’s nuclear program.
